Baumfeld is a district of the municipality of Hitzhofen in the Upper Bavarian district of Eichstätt .

location

The wasteland lies on the plateau of the southern Franconian Jura north of the municipality of Hitzhofen. It can be reached from Hitzhofen via Baumfelder Weg and Kapellenweg.

Name interpretation

The place name is likely to be due to the settlement of the Pabo clan.

history

The place is very likely a foundation of the church of Eichstätt. With a document dated July 23, 1297, the Eichstätter Bishop Reinboto von Meilenhart handed over to Heinrich, a farmer in the then already existing "Pabenvelt", today's Baumfeld, 30 days' work Neubruchfeld as inheritance. 1305 in the dispute over the Hirschberg legacy of "Babenvelde" is mentioned. In 1344, a newcomer named “Pabenfelder” can be traced for the first time to the episcopal city of Eichstätt - perhaps a craftsman who saw better opportunities for his craft and thus for his livelihood in the city. In the same year the Eichstätter Spital sold its property in “Paebenfeldt”.

Towards the end of the Old Kingdom , 1799, the Einödhof was subject to the high and low court of the Landvogteiamt Eichstätt. He paid interest to the local court box office.

In the course of the secularization of 1802/03, Baumfeld came to the Grand Duke Archduke Ferdinand III with the Landvogtamt Eichstätt . from Salzburg-Tuscany and 1806 to the Kingdom of Bavaria , where Baumfeld with Oberzell , the wasteland Mühltal and the church village Hitzhofen formed the tax district Hitzhofen. With the municipal edict of 1818, this tax district became a real municipality in the Ingolstadt district court and rent office . From 1819 on, Baumfeld and Hitzhofen were subordinate to the Leuchtenberg City and Lordship Court of Eichstätt. In 1830 seven people lived in the solitary yard. In 1862, Baumfeld and Hitzhofen were separated from the Eichstätt regional court and assigned to the Kipfenberg regional court . At this time eight people lived in the four buildings of the courtyard.

In 1950 Baumfeld had 21 residents due to the number of refugees and displaced persons, and in 1961 five.

In the course of the territorial reform of 1972, Baumfeld became a district of Hitzhofen in the Eichstätt district, which changed from the Central Franconia region to the Upper Bavaria region .
