Baumgarten is a hamlet and part of the municipality of Schneizlreuth in the Berchtesgadener Land district .

geography

The somewhat scattered place is on the B 21 between Bad Reichenhall and Unterjettenberg . Since the section between Baumgarten and Unterjettenberg is often closed in winter due to the risk of avalanches, avalanche and rockfall protection was built in 2009.

The Röthelbach , coming from the Lattengebirge , flows through Baumgarten and there flows into the Saalach .

history

Baumgarten as a district of the Jettenberg municipality , which was independent until 1909 , is only recorded in the official register of places from 1952, with the reference to the name not yet officially awarded , but at least the place name "Baumgarten" has been in use for the hamlet belonging to Jettenberg for a long time, like the historical map from 1832 ( original position sheet ) shows.
