Unterjettenberg is a district and village in the municipality of Schneizlreuth in the Berchtesgadener Land district (Bavaria).

It lies between the B 21 and the B 305 and is separated from the Fronau district by the B 21 and the Saalach .

At the census on May 25, 1987, the place had 221 inhabitants in 50 buildings with living space or 77 apartments.

In Unterjettenberg the Schwarzbach flows into the Saalach.

There is a level meter for the Saalach at the footbridge to Fronau. The highest measured water level was on June 2, 2013 with 413 cm.

history

From 1817 to 1961 the 3rd brine pipeline ran through Unterjettenberg from Berchtesgaden via the Wachterl to Bad Reichenhall . There was also the Jettenberg Brunnhaus there . In 1961 the line was shut down because it was replaced by the newer 4th brine line via Hallthurm .

The municipality of Jettenberg , to which Unterjettenberg belonged, was merged on July 1, 1909 together with the then municipality of Ristfeucht to form the new municipality of Schneizlreuth. Unterjettenberg was the administrative seat of the municipality. The second of the two districts of the community was the hamlet of Oberjettenberg .
