The PtzL 3/4 were cogwheel locomotives of the Royal Bavarian State Railways , whose cogwheel drive was designed for driving on rails with rack system Strub .

history

After the first three machines were delivered in 1912, another was added in 1923. They were all classified by the Deutsche Reichsbahn as class 97 1 in their numbering plan . Until the cogwheel operation on the Erlau – Wegscheid railway line was discontinued in 1963, the locomotives remained on their main line. They were assigned to the Passau depot . The last run was on January 5th, 1963. They were scrapped in Simbach am Inn in April 1964.
