The village of Beasley was founded by Richmond entrepreneur and banker Cecil A. Beasley in the mid-1890s after the Galveston, Harrisburg and San Antonio Railway was extended there. The settlement was initially named Dyer , named after Beasley's fiancé Isabel Dyer. In 1898 Dyer was given a post office to avoid confusion with another town of the same name, the village was then renamed Beasley .

In 1902 a village school was founded, which initially only had eight students. In 1910, the Kansas City Stern and Stern Land Company began selling land in the Beasley area. In the same year, an Evangelical Lutheran service was held for the first time in the Beasley schoolhouse. By 1914 a Lutheran and a Baptist church, a bank, a hotel, a sawmill , two wool mills , three general stores and a connection to the telephone network had been built in the village , at which time Beasley had 325 residents. In February 1918, the Evangelical Lutheran Hope Congregation was founded in Beasley , a parish in which services were held twice a month in both German and English. In the 1920s, the place also had a cinema.

Before the Second World War , the population of Beasleys reached its highest level at around 350, and from the end of the 1940s the population fell sharply. In 1948, the Beasley School District merged with the Lamar City School District . In 1960, Beasley's population reached its low point at just under 175, and the population has been rising again since then. In 1968 there were again about 275 residents in Beasley. Two years later, Beasley was incorporated as a City. In 1985 the primary school building used today was built. At the 2010 United States Census, Beasley had 641 residents.
