Beese is a district of the town of Vienau and the town of Kalbe (Milde) in the Altmarkkreis Salzwedel in Saxony-Anhalt (Germany).
geography
The Altmark parish village of Beese is located 12 kilometers northeast of Kalbe (Milde) on the Kalbe Werder. The river Untere Milde flows east of the village and is called Biese from Beese on .
The Stendal – Uelzen railway is to the east and north of the village.
history
Beese is first mentioned as Beso in 1324 when it came into the possession of the von Alvensleben family. At the beginning of the way to Dolchau there was a windmill at the beginning of the 20th century . At the beginning of the 19th century there was a Ross and Grütz mill in the village .
Incorporations
On July 1, 1950, the municipality of Beese from the district of Salzwedel was incorporated into the municipality of Mehrin . From October 17, 1973 the district of Beese came to Vienau (due to the incorporation of Mehrin in Vienau). From January 1, 2010, the district became part of the city of Kalbe (Milde), as Vienau was merged with other communities to form the unified municipality of the city of Kalbe (Milde) on that day.

The evangelical parish of Beese used to belong to the parish of Mehrin and now to the parish Fleetmark-Jeetze of the parish of Salzwedel in the provost district of Stendal-Magdeburg of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany .
Culture and sights
- The Protestant village church of Besse is a late Romanesque stone church from the beginning of the 13th century with a half-timbered tower . It is a branch church of Mehrin. The furnishings include an altar wall from the early 18th century.
- The local cemetery is in the south of the village.
