Belarmino Correa Yepes MXY (born July 14, 1930 in Briceño , † March 20, 2020 in Villavicencio ) was Bishop of San José del Guaviare .

Life

Belarmino Correa Yepes joined the religious order of the Misioneros Javerianos de Yarumal and was ordained a priest on August 15, 1957 .

Pope Paul VI appointed him on October 30, 1967 as Apostolic Prefect of Mitú . Pope John Paul II appointed him on January 19, 1989 Vicar Apostolic of San José del Guaviare and Titular Bishop of Horrea Coelia . The Apostolic Nuncio in Colombia , Angelo Acerbi , donated him episcopal ordination on April 8 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Jesús Emilio Jaramillo Monsalve MXY, Bishop of Arauca , andHeriberto Correa Yepes MXY, Vicar Apostolic of Buenaventura .

On October 29, 1999, the Pope elevated the Vicariate Apostolic to a diocese and thus became the first Bishop of San José del Guaviare. On January 17, 2006, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related retirement.
