Bellaire is a city in Harris County in the US state of Texas in the United States of America and belongs to the Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown Metropolitan Area .
geography
The city is located on Interstate 610 in southeast Texas, is about 70 km from the Gulf of Mexico and has a total area of 9.4 km², without any significant water surface. The distance to Houston in the northeast is approximately 11 km.
history
William Wright Baldwin , President of the South End Land Company and Vice President of Burlington Railroad , founded Bellaire and Westmoreland Farms after he bought the 9,449 acre Rice Ranch in 1908 and named it after the homonymous town of Bellaire , Ohio , which was also used by its railroad was approached.
