Blackburn Rovers

For the 2018/19 season he was loaned to league rivals Blackburn Rovers . After 16 missions in which the striker was unable to score, his loan club signed him firmly in January 2018. With the Rovers, Brereton signed a contract until 2022.

National team

In March 2017, Ben Brereton was appointed to the squad of the England U-19 national team for the first time . On March 24, 2017, he made his debut for the junior team in a 3-0 win over the Spanish U-19 national team . In the summer of 2017 he took part with England in the U-19 European Football Championship 2017 in Georgia. Brereton was one of the four most accurate players of the tournament with three tournament goals together with his teammate Ryan Sessegnon and won the European title thanks to a 2-1 final victory over Portugal. A year later he was reappointed to the English squad for the 2018 U-19 European Football Championship in Finland. The weakened replacement team failed prematurely this time in the preliminary round. Ben Brereton scored his only tournament goal in the opening game against Turkey.
