Bradley Paul Dack (born December 31, 1993 in Greenwich ) is an English football player . The attacking midfielder has been under contract with second division Blackburn Rovers since July 2017 .

Career

Gillingham FC

Born in Greenwich , Bradley Dack attended Beths Grammar School in Bexley and started playing football in the youth department of Charlton Athletic in 2005 . There he was released at the age of 14 and then he joined the youth department of the amateur club Corinthian FC . A little later he switched to the offspring of Gillingham FC , where he was awarded his first professional contract in May 2012. In the summer of the same year he took part in the preparation for the 2012/13 season and impressed head coach Martin Allen , so that he promoted him to the first team. On August 14, 2012, he made his debut in the 2-1 league cup win over Bristol City for the Gills when he came on in the 65th minute for Ben Strevens . Just four days later he made his fourth-highest English division debut in a 3-1 home win over Bradford City when he entered the field in the closing stages. On September 4, 2012, he hit the opposing goal for the first time successfully in the 2: 3 cup defeat against Crawley Town . The next day he signed a new three-year contract. It was used sporadically over the next few months.

On January 3, 2013 he moved to the fifth division Braintree Town on loan for a month . He made his debut two days later (27th matchday) in the 4-1 away win against Tamworth FC when he came on for James Mulley in the closing stages . In his fourth and last appearance in the 4-2 away win against Nuneaton Town on January 26, 2013 (31st matchday), he met for the first time. After his return to Gillingham FC, he came regularly to the train and played a key role in the fight for promotion to Football League One . On March 16, 2013 (29th matchday) he scored his first league goal in a 1-1 draw against FC Morecambe . He completed 16 league games for Gillingham that season and won the championship with the team. In the next 2013/14 season he was only used sporadically for the time being, but made it into the starting line-up of the new head coach Peter Taylor in December 2013 . He achieved a special performance on February 1, 2014 (30th matchday) in the 3-2 home win against FC Port Vale , in which he was able to prepare all three goals of his team. On April 16, 2014, Dack signed a new four-year deal with the Gills . He played 28 league games this season in which he scored three goals and prepared six more goals. With Gillingham FC he escaped relegation as seventeenth in the final table. After he had two goals and a template in the first half of the 2014/15 season and he got into the relegation battle with the club, he improved his quota in the second half noticeably. By the end of the season he made nine goals and eight assists in 42 league appearances and was elected the best young player of the season and player of the season for players within the club.

On August 22, 2015 (4th matchday), Dack scored a brace in a competitive game for the first time in a 2-0 home win against Wigan Athletic . In this 2015/16 season he advanced to the top scorer and finally the best offensive player in the team that fought for promotion this season. After a month-long injury break in the spring of 2015, however, he and his team couldn't get going and slipped out of the promotion playoff ranks in the finish line after a series of victories. He contributed significantly to a strong season with 13 goals and ten assists in 40 league appearances. Following the season, his individual achievements were recognized with the award for League One Player of the Season and a nomination for the PFA League One Team of the Year . He also cleared away at the club's internal award ceremony and received five awards. In the following season 2016/17 he could not maintain his excellent quota of the previous season and collected five goals and seven assists in 34 league appearances. Still, he won Gillingham's Young Player of the Season award for the third year in a row.

Bradley Dack played 185 competitive games for Gillingham FC in five seasons, in which he scored 38 goals and 34 assists.

Blackburn Rovers

On June 27, 2017, Bradley Dack moved to the ambitious league competitor Blackburn Rovers , where he started a three-year contract on July 1, 2017. He made his debut on August 5, 2017 (1st matchday) in a 2-1 away defeat by Southend United . His first goal was on September 23 (9th matchday) in a 1-1 draw against Shrewsbury Town . In the next league games, he consolidated his regular place and promoted his team with good performances in the promotion ranks. With 18 goals and nine assists in 42 league appearances, Dack was considered an important pillar of the team, who managed to return successfully to the EFL Championship as second in the table . At the end of the 2017/18 season , he received the League One Player of the Season award for the second time in his career.

On July 20, 2018, he signed a new three-year deal with Blackburn. Dack was also able to repeat his strong performances from the previous season in the 2018/19 season. All the beginning, however, set an excellent performance in the first round of the EFL Cup , in which he scored two goals in a 5-1 win against the lower class club Carlisle United and prepared the two other goals of his team. In the league, he played 42 games in which he scored 15 goals and prepared seven more. He met regularly in the next 2019/20 season , but suffered a cruciate ligament rupture on December 23, 2019 (23rd matchday) in a 0-0 draw against Wigan Athletic, which put him out of action for months.
