Career

Northampton Town and Leeds United

Bradley Johnson made his debut for Cambridge United on December 7, 2004 in a 2-1 home loss to Scunthorpe United . In May 2005, he moved to fourth division Northampton Town for which he played three games in Football League Two , before moving to fifth division Ebbsfleet United for the rest of the season on loan . Northampton secured promotion to the third division in the 2005/06 season as runners-up. For the promoted of the Football League One 2006/07 in the middle of the table, he played thirty league games and scored five goals. After another good performance during the subsequent season, the 20-year-old moved to league rivals Leeds United on January 8, 2008 . With his new team, he missed promotion to the second division due to a defeat in the play-off final (0-1 against Doncaster Rovers ) of Football League One 2007/08 . The 2008/09 season he spent at times on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion for whom he scored five goals in ten third division games. After his return to Leeds, he moved with his team again in the play-off final of the Football League One 2008/09 , but failed again with 2: 3 at Scunthorpe United. In the following season Johnson (36 games / 7 goals) succeeded with his team as runners-up in the second division. With the newcomer to the league, he finished the Football League Championship 2010/11 as seventh in the table and barely missed the play-offs.

Norwich City

On July 1, 2011, the first division promoted Norwich City announced the commitment of Johnson and equipped him with a three-year contract. After two midfield placements in the Premier League in 2011/12 and 2012/13 , Norwich rose again to the second division in the 2013/14 season after three years in the English House of Lords.

Also thanks to fifteen league goals from Johnson, Norwich moved into the play-offs as third in the 2014/15 Football League Championship and reached the final after a success over Ipswich Town . In front of 85,656 spectators at Wembley Stadium , City won 2-0 against Middlesbrough FC and managed to return to the top division.

Derby County

In early September 2015, Bradley Johnson moved to the second division Derby County for a club-internal record transfer fee of 6 million pounds , with whom he moved into the play-offs in the Football League Championship 2015/16 as fifth , but failed there prematurely at Hull City . Also in 2016/17 he missed promotion to the Premier League with Derby as ninth in the table. After four years he moved to the Blackburn Rovers .
