Port Vale (officially: Port Vale Football Club ) is a football club from Stoke-on-Trent founded in 1876 .
history
Port Vale FC plays its home game in Burslem , Stoke-on-Trent. At the end of the 2012/13 season, the "Valiants", as they are called, rose from Football League Two to third-rate Football League One . The city rival is Stoke City , which is currently playing second-rate in the Football League Championship . In the 1990s, Port Vale even managed to overtake Stoke City when the club was able to hold onto for a few years in the First Division , as the second division was then called.
Port Vale's stadium, Vale Park , can now accommodate a total of 22,356 spectators. The record attendance dates back to February 20, 1960, when 49,768 spectators came to the FA Cup against Aston Villa .
For 240,000 pounds sterling , the pop star Robbie Williams bought the majority of the shares in the club in 2006, linked to the hope of a development similar to that of Chelsea under Roman Abramowitsch . On March 6, 2012, Port Vale went bankrupt.
The club had “problems with racist fans” several times. Dark-skinned players have recently been verbally abused. In 2013 the club was warned by the association. "
