Ben Bruce

Benjamin Paul Bruce (born October 31, 1988 in London ) is a British rock musician who is mainly known for his work with Asking Alexandria .

Bruce has been running his own clothing brand BB Clothing since 2011 and is the founder of the record company KBB Records , which opened its doors in 2014.

Life

Ben Bruce was born on October 31, 1988 in London. However, he moved to Dubai , United Arab Emirates with his family when he was six years old. The reason was that his father could n't find a job in England and criticized the school system there .

At the age of 12 he started playing the electric guitar . He named groups like Iron Maiden and Metallica as musical influences . In an interview he said that Metallica's Kill 'Em All , Guns N' Roses album Appetite for Destruction and Slipknot 's debut album of the same name are among his favorites.

He moved back to the UK in 2008 at the age of 17 . On May 24, 2013, he married his girlfriend Samantha Cassaro. The marriage ended in divorce in 2016. In June 2017 he married Ciara Bertjens, with whom he has been together since May 2015. The couple has three children: a daughter (* 2016) and two sons (* 2017, * 2020).

Career

Asking Alexandria

In 2006 he first founded the band Asking Alexandria in Dubai . This existed until 2008. During this period he brought out several works with the group, including the album The Irony of Your Perfection , which was released through Hangman's Joke Records . Due to the constantly changing line-up of the band members and the hopeless prospect of international success, he moved back to England.

In York Bruce met Danny Worsnop . With him he re-formed the group. With the newly formed group he released three studio albums: The debut Stand Up and Scream was released in 2009. Two years later, the follow-up album Reckless and Relentless followed . With From Death to Destiny the group finally achieved their international breakthrough.

solo

In January 2014, Ben Bruce announced that he wanted to record his solo debut album. Shortly before, Danny Worsnop announced that he would be releasing a new album with his side project We Are Harlot . So far nothing more is known about the studio work.

He can be heard as one of the artists on the cover compilation for Florence + the Machine . He covered their song Shake It Out .

BB Clothing

In 2011, Ben Bruce launched his line of clothing, BB Clothing . Products can be purchased separately from Asking Alexandria band merchandise. However, it remained quiet until 2013 before he announced that he would work on new designs.

KBB Records

In 2014 he founded the record company KBB Records with band manager Kyle Borman , which has now concluded a distribution deal with Caroline Records . The first group to be signed was Scare Don't Fear , who released their debut album on June 17, 2014 on the label. A little later, The Family Ruin was signed.
