Ben Haenow (* 1985 ) is a British pop singer from London . He is the 11th season winner of The X Factor in 2014.

Career

Ben Haenow is a transport driver by profession and lives in Croydon in south London. When he was 15 years old, he started singing in bands. At the age of 22 he founded the rock and roll band Lost Audio with his brother . They also went on tour with the band until his brother fell ill with hearing damage and the band fell apart.

In 2014 he applied to the talent show The X Factor . He reached the live shows and got into the top third in the first three shows. With his performance of Highway to Hell in the fourth show, he then became the favorite of the audience and received the most caller votes in each of the following rounds. Although the British bookmakers favored the rival Fleur East in the final , he clearly prevailed with 57.2% of the vote.

His final song Something I Need , a cover version of the hit by OneRepublic , was released following the final victory and reached number one on the British ( Christmas number one hit ) and number two on the Irish singles charts.
