economy

The Schutz Fahrzeugbau company was founded in 1961 by Heinz Schutz as a small workshop and has continued to develop since then. With around 95 employees, Schutz Fahrzeugbau is one of the largest employers in Bendingbostel and the surrounding area.

As part of the village renewal, a barn was converted into a village shop (Lintler shop). 23 people from Bendingbostel and the surrounding area founded a GbR and ran the village shop until 2014. In 2014 the operation of the village shop was successfully continued by a newly founded economic association (w. V.).

Education & Culture

Across from Schutz Fahrzeugbau is the Lintler Geest primary school - school with grades 1 to 4. The primary school has been an environmental school since 1997 and thus promotes environmental and health awareness among pupils and staff. New projects are constantly being implemented. The Bendingbostel elementary school has been recognized as a UBUNTU school (Ubuntu: Zulu word (South Africa)), which means that special emphasis is placed on community, respect and tolerance. The Lintler Geest School has had a relationship with the country of South Africa for several years, as the third year group raises the school fees for the sponsored children through self-selected actions.

The village has a very active volunteer fire brigade that was established in 1846. At that time, the communities of Bendingbostel, Brunsbrock and Sehlingen decided to found a syringe association. In 1900 the syringe association was dissolved. No documents are available for the period up to the establishment. The local fire brigade was founded in May 1936. In 1956 the fire station was built. In 2003 the youth fire brigade "Lintler Geest" was founded.
