On July 1, 1972, Wittlohe was incorporated into the Kirchlinteln community.

Culture and sights

  • The village is characterized by wide forest areas.
  • Wittlohe is the location of the Evangelical Lutheran St. Jakobi Church, which was built in 1894. The previous church, located elsewhere, was from the 13th century, the nave of which was demolished in 1908 and the steeple in 1928.
  • The oldest secular building in the Verden district is the Wittloh chapter house from the 13th century, in which court was held for a long time. It is also called the bakery and later served as a prison, youth hostel, laundry and bakery.
