Armsen is a village in the Verden district in Lower Saxony with 800 inhabitants. It belongs to the municipality of Kirchlinteln and is located in the so-called Kleinbahnwinkel .

The village of Armsen is one of 17 localities in the Kirchlinteln community. In addition there is the district of Neuenförde, north of the federal highway 27 Bremen - Hanover.

Armsen is located approx. 8 km east of the district town of Verden and approx. 7 km southeast of the main town Kirchlinteln. The area of ​​the place is approx. 11.05 km². The landscape of Armsen lies on the edge of the Verdener / Lintelner Geest up to the Aller valley and the Drommelbeck lowland. The village is characterized by wide forest areas. Armsen borders on Hohen- and Neddenaverbergen as well as Luttum.

history

The settlements in the Armsen area go back to prehistoric times . There are numerous barrows around Armsen.

Due to the location on the Geestrand towards the Drommelbeck lowland, there are many springs. The appearance of the place is characterized by the existence of mighty oaks on the historic farms. Numerous rural kitchen gardens and ornamental gardens as well as a large horticultural company determine the character of the village.

On July 1, 1972 Armsen was incorporated into the municipality of Kirchlinteln.

Economy and Infrastructure

Armsen was accepted into the village renewal program in 2000 and has continued to develop since then. The 2.75 km long educational and adventure trail: "Sources - Oaks - Gardens" with its 17 display and teaching boards and benches is a village renewal project.

An open garden day has also been held every two years since June 2003, combined with a flower show by the local nursery. It is a popular event that is of national importance.

The infrastructure and village life have developed within the framework of the village renewal program. The newly built village community center with hall, fire station and youth room became the club house of the local rifle club, the local community and culture club with the volunteer fire brigade .

The shooting club has underground shooting ranges with one of the most modern 50 meter small caliber and air rifle ranges in the Verden district. A painting, gymnastics and theater group as well as the Armser Dörpsängers were formed from the home and culture association. On the Heidberg (Zum Schönsfelde) a new building area with 26 building sites has been designated. Armsen is on the Verden (Aller) –Walsrode Nord railway line ; the Armsen stop has been reopened after the repairs by the Verdener Eisenbahnfreunde and is used as a new stop for special trips by the museum railway.
