Benedetto Colonna Barberini di Sciarra , also Benedetto Barberini , (born October 22, 1788 in Rome , † April 10, 1863 there ) was an Italian cardinal.

Barberini was born the youngest of ten children of Carlo Maria Barberini, Duke of Montelibretti and Prince of Palestrina, and Countess Giustina Borromeo Arese. He was the great-nephew of Girolamo Colonna di Sciarra and Prospero Colonna di Sciarra and maternal great-uncle of Cardinal Giovanni Battista Casali del Drago .

Barberini entered the Roman prelature and was named House Prelate of His Holiness on January 17, 1820. On February 12, 1820, he was Apostolic Protonotar non participantium and relator at a congregation. On March 5, 1822, he became Secretary of the Congregation for Bishops and Religious . On March 10th, he became prefect of the papal household.

On October 2, 1826 he was by Pope Leo XII. appointed cardinal in pectore . His name was published in the consistory on December 15, 1828, and the cardinal's hat was presented to him on December 18. On May 21, 1829 he was assigned the titular church of Santa Maria sopra Minerva . He took part in the conclave of 1829 , which Pope Pius VIII elected, and in the conclave of 1830–1831 , which Pope Gregory XVI. chose. On July 2, 1832, he moved to the titular church of Santa Maria in Trastevere . On November 28, 1834 he was appointed prefect of a congregation . On April 28, 1844 he became archpriest of the Lateran basilica . He took part in the conclave of 1846 , which Pope Pius IX. chose. On June 16, 1856 he became Cardinal Protopriester and Cardinal Priest of San Lorenzo in Lucina and kept in commendam Santa Maria in Trastevere . In 1856 and 1857 he was treasurer of the Holy College of Cardinals . On February 5, 1862 he became secretary of the Apostolic Breven and Grand Chancellor for the Papal Order of Knights .

He was laid out in San Lorenzo in Lucina and with the participation of Pope Pius IX. buried in the family chapel in Sant'Andrea della Valle Rome. He was the last living cardinal of Pope Leo XII.
