Benetton Rugby Treviso is an Italian rugby union club based in Treviso . Since 2010 he has been playing in the international Pro 14 championship , previously in the Italian Super 10 league . The association is named after its main sponsor, the Benetton textile company . The home games are played in the Stadio Comunale di Monigo .
history
The association was founded in 1932. In 1956 he won his first of a total of 15 championship titles, followed by his first cup victory in 1970. In the 1995/96 season, Treviso took part in the European Heineken Cup for the first time , but has never qualified for the quarter-finals to this day. Even in the two participations in the European Challenge Cup , Treviso never got beyond the group stage.
From 1997 Treviso was the dominant Italian club and won ten championship titles and three trophies over the course of 13 years. In 1998 and 2010 the team achieved the double . For the 2010/11 season, the club moved to the then Celtic League , which has been called Pro 14 since 2017 and also includes Irish, Scottish, Welsh and South African teams. In the 2018/19 season , Treviso took third place in Conference B and thus for the first time made it into the quarter-finals of the playoffs, which were lost to Munster .
