Benjamin Bellot (born July 30, 1990 in Leipzig ) is a German football goalkeeper . He has been under contract with BSG Chemie Leipzig since 2019 .

Career

Bellot began playing football at SV Blau-Weiß Günthersdorf at the age of five , before playing in the youth team at VfB Leipzig until 2004 . Then he went through the youth teams of FC Sachsen Leipzig .

In 2009 Bellot joined the newly founded club RB Leipzig and was second goalkeeper behind Sven Neuhaus . Bellot played in the 2009/10 season - on matchday 24 he was substituted on against 1. FC Gera 03 due to an injury to Neuhaus in the 12th minute . At the end of the season, RB Leipzig rose to the Regionalliga. In the following three regional league years Bellot stayed in the second and third rows - first behind Neuhaus, then behind Pascal Borel and finally behind Fabio Coltorti . Bellot made three appearances in the Regionalliga - 2011/12 against VfB Lübeck and 2012/13 against 1. FC Lokomotive Leipzig and Energie Cottbus II . At the end of the 2012/13 season he rose to the 3rd division with Leipzig .

In the third division season 2013/14 Bellot went, just like Erik Domaschke , as a substitute goalkeeper behind Fabio Coltorti. Bellot usually sat on the bench at games. On the 17th matchday, when Coltorti had to be replaced due to a torn ligament during the game, Bellot played a game for the U-23 to collect match practice. Thus Domaschke took over the place between the posts, and coach Alexander Zorniger also trusted in him in the following years. On matchday 24, Domaschke suffered a fractured scaphoid bone during the game. Bellot came on for him and thus made his professional debut. He was in goal until matchday 33 and then had to give way to the recovering Coltorti. On the penultimate game, the team achieved promotion to the 2nd Bundesliga , and Bellot was allowed to play for his eleventh season appearance on the last day of the game.

At the beginning of the 2014/15 season he was in goal in the first ten games for the injured goalkeeper Fabio Coltorti, and in the last three games of the season he also took over for the ailing goalkeeper and thus made a total of 13 season games in the 2nd Bundesliga, all from Start at. For the 2016/17 season Bellot became one of the permanent goalkeepers of Leipzig's second team. With the dissolution of this at the end of the season, Bellot was associated with various clubs at home and abroad. For the first team he was only a substitute goalkeeper in the Bundesliga match against SV Darmstadt , but was not used.

In June 2017 Bellot joined Brøndby IF . In the summer of 2019, he moved back to Saxony and signed with the regional league team BSG Chemie Leipzig .
