The conservative-nationalist party Convergència i Unió has an absolute majority in the city parliament.
In May 2012, the residents of Berga declared Juan Carlos I a persona non grata .
Culture
The best known and largest traditional folk festival is La Patum , which takes place annually around the holiday of Corpus Christi . It has been a UNESCO Intangible World Heritage Site since 2005 .
