Bergen bei Neuburg (vernacular: Baring ) is a district of Neuburg an der Donau in the Upper Bavarian district of Neuburg-Schrobenhausen and is known for the pilgrimage church of the former Bergen monastery . The place has 383 inhabitants (as of December 31, 2014).

Bergen is about eight kilometers north of Neuburg an der Donau.

Incorporation

Bergen with the district of Forsthof was an independent municipality from 1818 until it was incorporated into the city of Neuburg an der Donau , which came into force on January 1, 1976.

Attractions

Parish and pilgrimage church Heilig Kreuz , Rococo (important ceiling frescoes by Johann Wolfgang Baumgartner : finding the cross , elevation of the cross , veneration of the cross by various saints), with a Romanesque tower and Romanesque crypt (which was very sensitively integrated again with new staircases during the Rococo renovation of the church ); Renaissance epitaph for Wilhalm von Muhr and his wife (by the Eichstatt sculptor Loy Hering ).
