Beringer von Entringen († 1232 ) was Bishop of Speyer from 1224 to 1232.

Live and act

Beringer came from the Swabian noble family from Entringen zu Hohenentringen . He was first cathedral cantor in Speyer and then coadjutor of Konrad III. Edler von Scharfeneck , the bishop of Metz and Speyer for the last four years of his life, during which he was weakened by old age and the many businesses. In 1224 he became Bishop of Speyer as his successor.

He was an advisor to King Henry VII and took part in the court conference in Worms in 1231. The Cistercian convent Heilsbruck and the Reuerinnenkloster St. Magdalena were founded during his time . The Franciscans were allowed to move their branch to the city of Speyer .

The fields of the coat of arms alternate with the family coat of arms of those of Entringen and the coat of arms of the diocese of Speyer, a silver cross on a blue background. The family coat of arms of the von Entringen shows a golden crossbar on a red background. The bar is covered with three black rings.
