Berkay Sülüngöz (born March 22, 1996 ) is a Swiss - Turkish football player .

Career

Sülüngöz joined FC Solothurn in 2001 at the age of five , where he played from Junior F to Coca Cola Junior League A. In July 2013 he was promoted to the first team that was eligible to play in the first division at that time . During two seasons he had a total of 47 missions in which he scored four goals.

On the occasion of a training camp in Gran Canaria , Sülüngöz was observed by those in charge of FC Basel who gave him the chance to play in the second team of FC Basel. So he moved to the U21 team of FC Basel in the Promotion League for the 2015/16 season . In his first season he made 18 appearances and was able to call up his performance to such an extent that he was included in the first team's squad by Urs Fischer on matchday 32 of the Super League against FC Zurich . This was repeated on the last three game days, but he was not used. In his second season, another 19 missions for the second team followed.

For the 2017/18 season , Sülüngöz moved to the newcomers of the Challenge League , FC Rapperswil-Jona , where he signed a one-year contract. After just one season in which he made 25 appearances, FC Rapperswil-Jona announced that they would forego a contract extension. On June 4, 2018, the Liechtenstein club FC Vaduz announced that Sülüngöz had been signed for two years until June 2020.
