Manuel Sutter (born March 8, 1991 in Wolfurt ) is an Austrian football player . He has been playing for FC Vaduz in the Swiss Super League since January 2019 .

Career

society

Sutter began his career in the youth of his home club FC Wolfurt . After his talent crystallized early on, at the age of fourteen he was accepted into the Vorarlberg State Football Academy.

In the AKA he then developed into one of the greatest football talents in Vorarlberg. In the 2007/08 season he was already the top scorer of the U-17 team with 14 goals this season, before he was able to prolong his status in 2008/09 with 15 goals in 24 games for the U-19s. In the meantime, his home club FC Wolfurt brought him into the senior team for the first time in May 2007 for a game in the Vorarlbergliga. Wolfurt won 5: 2, Sutter scored a 4: 1 goal.

In the 2009/10 season he then moved to the Swiss first division club FC St. Gallen . Originally intended for the U-18 team, from then on he ran regularly in the third-class Swiss 1st division for the U-21s of the "Espen" . With a total of 12 goals in 28 appearances he crowned himself even with his new club once the best season scorers, whereupon it on 16 May 2010 at the last league match of the 2009/10 season in the 5: 1 defeat to FC Sion his debut for St Gallen was able to celebrate in the Axpo Super League . He came on the field in minute 69 for Kristian Nushi . In the 2010/11 season he became a regular member of the professional squad of FC St. Gallen.

In the summer of 2013, Sutter moved to the Liechtenstein club FC Vaduz . He came to a total of 33 appearances in the Challenge League in his first season and scored 12 goals. In the same year he also won the Liechtenstein Cup with the club . With Vaduz he rose to the Super League in 2013/14. After three years in Liechtenstein, he moved to the Swiss second division club FC Winterthur for the 2016/17 season .

After two and a half years at Winterthur, he returned to FC Vaduz, which is now second-rate again, in January 2019, with whom he received a contract that ran until June 2021.

In August 2020, Sutter will again be promoted to the top Swiss league with FC Vaduz. In the barrage duel against FC Thun, the Vaduz team prevailed with a total of 5: 4 with Sutter contributing 2 assists and 1 goal.

National team

March 2007 he ran for the first time in two friendly matches against the Czech Republic for the Austrian U-17 national team .

On April 18, 2008, he made his debut for the U-18 national team , during the 0: 4 away defeat in the friendly against Germany. Two more friendly matches for the U-18s followed in 2009, but coach Andreas Heraf did not consider him for a competition match .

In the same year he also moved up to the U-19 of Austria under coach Heraf . For the U-19 European Football Championship in France in 2010 , he was then surprisingly only nominated on the on-demand list and thus missed the final round. Without his intervention, the team managed to qualify for the 2011 Junior World Cup in Colombia during the tournament .
