Gabriel Lüchinger (born December 18, 1992 in Altstätten ) is a Swiss football player .

Career

Lüchinger began his career at FC Montlingen . Then he came to the youth of the Grasshopper Club Zurich , for whose second team he was used for the first time in 2009 in the third highest league. In the winter of 2010/11 he was awarded to the second team of FC St. Gallen , which also committed him to the end of the season. In March 2012 he made his debut against FC Biel-Bienne for the professionals from St. Gallen in the Challenge League . At the end of the season he was promoted to the Super League with his club .

In August 2012 Lüchinger was awarded to the second division club FC Wil . After 22 second division games in which he was able to score three goals, he returned to the U-21 from St. Gallen. After the 2013/14 season he left the FCSG.

After a year without a club, he moved to fourth division club FC Balzers in the summer of 2015 . For the 2016/17 season he went to Austria , where he joined the amateurs of SCR Altach . In September 2016 he made his debut for the professionals from Altach in the Bundesliga when he came on as a substitute for Boris Prokopič on matchday seven against SV Mattersburg in minute 67 .

For the 2017/18 season he moved to the second division club SV Ried , where he received a contract valid until June 2019. In February 2018 it was awarded to the league competitor FC Blau-Weiß Linz .

For the 2018/19 season he moved to the Challenge League for FC Vaduz , where he received a contract that ran until June 2020.

Personal

His cousin Nicolas is also a soccer player and is currently under contract with FC St. Gallen .
