Sandro Wieser (born February 3, 1993 in Vaduz ) is a Liechtenstein football player .

Career

society

Wieser played for the juniors of FC Triesen . He moved to FC Vaduz in November 2003 and to FC Basel in 2006, playing for their U-18 and U-21 teams. With the U-18 he was Swiss champion in the 2008/09 season.

From February 3, 2011 he was in the squad of the first team of FC Basel in the top division in Switzerland, the Axpo Super League . He made his official game debut on March 20, 2011 in a 2-1 away win against Grasshopper Club Zurich . At the end of the 2010/11 season , Wieser became Swiss champions with FC Basel.

In the winter break of 2011/12, Wieser moved to the German Bundesliga club TSG 1899 Hoffenheim , after having been about to move to TSG Hoffenheim a year earlier. He signed a contract there until 2016 and is the first Liechtenstein player in the Bundesliga .

For the 2013/14 season Wieser was loaned to the Austrian Bundesliga club SV Ried . For the 2014/15 season he was loaned to FC Aarau .

On November 9, 2014, Wieser fouled a player from FC Zurich, Gilles Yapi , and was suspended for six games. FC Zurich reported Wieser for serious bodily harm. Yapi sustained eight different injuries, including a cruciate ligament, as a result of the foul.

At the end of July 2015, Wieser moved to FC Thun . He received a contract until the end of the 2015/16 season with an option for another season.

National team

Wieser has been a member of the Liechtenstein U-21 national football team since 2009 . In 2010 he was appointed to the senior national team. There he made his debut on August 11, 2010 against Iceland .
