Bernard L. Kowalski
Bernard Louis Kowalski (born August 2, 1929 in Brownsville , Texas , † October 26, 2007 in Los Angeles ) was an American film director , film producer and screenwriter .
biography
Kowalski began his film career in 1934 at the age of five as an extra alongside actors such as Errol Flynn . His first films include Dodge City, produced in 1939, and the Virginia City strip, made a year later .
Kowalski's work behind the camera began in 1946 - he was 17 years old at the time - when he gained his first experience as an employee of his father, who worked in Hollywood as an assistant director and production manager .
The son made a career soon after. So he only acted briefly as an assistant director in the television series Medic , which was shot between 1954 and 1956. Just one year after starting his work as assistant director, Kowalski was able to direct the western series Smoking Colts , which is still known today, for the first time .
Further film and television projects followed.
The 9th episode (The Truth) of Season 5 of One Tree Hill was dedicated to him.
