Bernardo Gonçalves Pereira Mota (born June 14, 1971 in Lisbon ) is a former Portuguese tennis player .

Career

Along with Nuno Marques , João Cunha e Silva and Emanuel Couto, Mota is part of the so-called "Golden Generation" of Portuguese tennis. He took part in the Olympic Games in Barcelona , Atlanta and Sydney and played 30 games for the Portuguese Davis Cup team between 1991 and 2004 .

He achieved the only tournament victory of his career in 1996 at the ATP tournament in Porto in doubles with Emanuel Couto.

He is currently working as a coach at the Clube de Ténis in Carcavelos .
