Bernhard Friedrich von Buddenbrock (* 1725 in Gurnen , Goldap district , † October 28, 1807 in Rathenow ) was a royal Prussian major general .

origin

Bernhard Friedrich was a member of the Baltic- Prussian noble family von Buddenbrock . His parents were Otto Heinrich von Budde Brock (1667-1729) and his second wife Louise Charlotte of sleeves († 1744) adH Plehnen , widowed Stach of Golzheim, again wed Countess of Dönhoff . His brothers were the Prussian Major General, Chief of Infantry Regiment No. 16 and Knight of the Pour le Mérite Ludwig von Buddenbrock (1720–1782) and the Prussian Major and Chief of the 1st Standing Grenadier Battalion Wilhelm Ernst von Buddenbrock († 1760) .

Life

He began his career in the Prussian army in 1744 as a cornet in the Leibkarabinierregiment (No. 11) and took part in the Second Silesian War as such . On August 28, 1752, he was promoted to lieutenant, followed by participation in the Seven Years' War , promotion to staff commander on January 16, 1758, to captain and company commander on June 9, 1761, and to major on June 3, 1768. He also took participated in the Bavarian War of Succession , which was immediately followed by other promotions. On September 3, 1780, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel, on June 2, 1782, to colonel, and on March 16, 1783, he became commander of the Leibkarabinierregiment (No. 11).

A prebend at the Cammin monastery , which he had received on June 27, 1784, he sold on to Christian Sigismund von Schickfus. In recognition of his services, Frederick the Great gave him 2000 thalers on May 28, 1786 . On May 31, 1788, he graduated with the rank of major general and from June 1, 1788, he received a supply of 1200 thalers.

Buddenbrock married Luise Henriette von Angern adH Hohenwarsleben († 1816) in Hohenwarsleben in 1767 . In a condolence on November 30, 1807, the king informed her that the pension would no longer be paid. The marriage resulted in a son and four daughters:
