Berthold Matschat

Berthold "Bert" Matschat (born May 16, 1963 in Göttingen ) is a German jazz and studio musician ( piano , harmonica , composition ) and producer.

Act

Matschat first learned the piano from the age of five, later switching to cello, guitar and chromatic harmonica. After graduating from high school, he studied at the Cologne University of Music , a. a. with Bob Brookmeyer .

Matschat has been working as a freelancer since then. He has worked in studio productions and on stage. a. Active with Peter Fessler , Paul Kuhn , the WDR Big Band Cologne , the WDR Rundfunkorchester , Joe Sample , Peter Kraus , Udo Jürgens , Shirley Bassey , Al Martino , Manteca , Heino and Howard Carpendale .
