Bertrand du Pouget
Bertrand du Pouget (* approx. 1280 in Castelnau-Montratier , † February 3, 1352 in Villeneuve-lès-Avignon ) was a cardinal of the Catholic Church.
Life
The nephew of Pope John XXII. PhD to Dr. jur. and in 1310 received a benefit from Pope Clement V at the Church of Sainte-Marie in Roquemaure . As dean of Issigfeac he became monsignor in 1316 and then cathedral chapter of the metropolitan chapter of Narbonne and archdeacon of Le Mans .
Pope John XXII. raised him on December 17, 1316 cardinal priest of the titular church of San Marcello . From 1319 to 1334 he was the papal legate for northern Italy. Since December 18, 1327 Cardinal Bishop of Ostia e Velletri , he was from 1327 to 1334 legate and count of Bologna . From 1332 he was Margrave of Ancona and Count of Romagna .
Du Pouget participated in the conclaves of 1334 and 1342 .
