Castelnau-Montratier ( Occitan : Castèlnau de Montratièr ) is a village and a commune déléguée in the southern French municipality of Castelnau Montratier-Sainte Alauzie with 1,772 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Lot department in the Occitanie region . The inhabitants are called Castelnaudais .
With effect from January 1, 2017, Castelnau-Montratier was merged with the commune of Sainte-Alauzie to form the Commune nouvelle Castelnau Montratier-Sainte Alauzie, where it has the status of a commune déléguée. It belonged to the arrondissement of Cahors and the canton of Marches du Sud-Quercy (until 2015: canton of Castelnau-Montratier ).

Castelnau-Montratier is located on the banks of the Lupte River in the old cultural landscape of the Quercy , about 28 kilometers north of Montauban . The Barguelonne River crosses the Commune déléguée area. The municipality of Castelnau-Montratier was surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Sainte-Alauzie in the north and north-west, Pern in the north-east, Flaugnac in the east, Saint-Paul-de-Loubressac in the east and south-east, Montfermier in the south-east, Molières in the south, Labarthe in the south-west, Vazerac to the west and southwest and Sauveterre to the west.
The former Route nationale 659 runs through the territory of the Commune déléguée .
