history

Founded Bertschi AG by the brothers Hans and Rolf Bertschi in 1956. She specializes in liquid and bulk-chemical transports. The company's headquarters are in Dürrenäsch (Aargau). As a purely family company, Bertschi is concerned about its independence.

In the founding year of Bertschi AG , which had existed as a sole proprietorship since 1956, Bertschi Dürrenäsch, an attempt to carry out transalpine transports by rail arose from the collaboration with the chemical company BASF . The idea failed because of the cooperation between SBB .

Bertschi AG received its first major order from Viscosuisse (now Rhodia SA ) in Emmenbrücke near Lucerne for the transport of special liquid salt from Alsace . An agreement was finally reached with the railways, and in the autumn of 1964 the first Bertschi trucks were driving on the Rolling Road between Basel and Lugano. With numerous regular transports for BASF, Bertschi became a pioneer of combined transport to Italy.

In 1970 Bertschi AG owned 26 trucks and 14 tractor units and employed 47 people.

In 1972, the first rail / road transshipment facility was built at Wohlen station in the canton of Aargau . The Bertschi AG became one of the pioneers of combined transport.
