Criteria for the best times

Each athlete is listed here with their personal best. Times of amateurs and professionals under 8:20 hours since October 1982 have been taken into account.

Competitions in which only one duathlon was held due to the weather, or partial distances were significantly shortened by the organizer, are not considered. An official measurement of the routes, as in athletics with the Jones counter , has not yet been done in triathlon. The races can only be compared to a limited extent or to a limited extent due to the fact that the length is not exactly precise.

The times for one and the same competition, as in Hawaii, are not comparable due to route changes, construction sites, condition or change of the road surface, relocations and changes in the transition areas. The times listed here are results that have been achieved in competitions with an official slipstream ban.
