Bettina Rust

Bettina Bärbel Rust (born September 15, 1967 in Hanover ) is a German journalist and television presenter .

Career

education

After graduating from high school, she studied social psychology and German language and literature in Hanover for two semesters and then communication and marketing in Hamburg . Through an internship and subsequent traineeship at the private radio station OK Radio in Hamburg, she came to the moderation and then switched to the television station Premiere as a moderator .

From May 7, 1993 to December 31, 1994, she hosted the call-in program 0137 Night Talk at Premiere and interviewed celebrities such as Jim Rakete , Wolfgang Flatz and Friedensreich Hundertwasser in showbiz . Later the daily talk show Lifeguide on kabel eins . Since 1995 she has been working as a freelance journalist for print media such as Die Welt and, together with Susanne Rohrer, presented the talk show Ultima at tm3 from 1995 to 1996 . Since 1997 she has been editor and spokesperson for various Sat.1 formats. From 2006 to 2016, alternating with colleagues from other ARD broadcasters , she created five to six 30-minute reports per year for the So ein Tag format at NDR .

In 2013 she hosted the music show Playlist - Sound of my Life on Tele 5 , in which music experts guess celebrities based on music titles.

From 2013 to 2016 she drove dog and bike through Berlin in the program Stadt, Rad, Hund im rbb , met celebrities and other personalities and had their respective neighborhoods shown. There were u. a. Henry Hübchen , Barbara Schöneberger , Cardinal Woelki , Ulrich Matthes , Klaus Wowereit , Annette Frier and Oskar Roehler . The programs were broadcast on rbb television.

Radio

On the radio, she moderates the two-hour format Hörbar Rust on Radio Eins on Sundays . The program, which is also broadcast as a TV format on RBB night television, received the “European Podcast Award” in 2008.

Podcast

Since the end of 2017 she has been writing and setting a weekly podcast with stories and thoughts from her life under the column Die Kolumnisten (The Columnists) , which is offered on the audio book platform "Audible".

Since December 2019, she has been moderating the radioeins podcast The Run of Things, which appears every Friday, together with Thomas Oberender . The podcast describes current everyday culture by looking at things that have been added or disappeared over the past 50 years.

In the paperback Berlin - Favorite Places , Bettina Rust describes around 70 of her personal favorite places in Berlin in short columns.

Private

She lives in Berlin-Schöneberg and has no children.
