The Bexter (also: "Bexterbach") is a 5.2 km long orographically left tributary of the Werre in the northeast of the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia .

course

The Bexter rises in Bad Salzuflen- Lockhausen and flows eastwards from its source. It flows through the Bexterwald, reaches the district of Wülfer and flows east of this at Wülferlieth on the left at kilometer 34 into the Werre . During its course, the flowing water covers a height difference of 29 m. The brook drains a small part of the Ravensberg hill country . Another special feature is that the water flows along its entire course parallel to state road 712 n ( Ostwestfalenstraße ).

The Bexter runs partly north of the “ Bexter Waldnature reserve . It is assigned to water quality class II-III. This means that it is critically burdened.
