life and work

Bibi Abel studied fine arts in Cologne and then completed further training as a multimedia developer. From 2001 she was a member of the artist duo fuck yourself service with a focus on video and installation . Guest engagements as a video artist have taken her to the theaters of Bochum , Düsseldorf , Essen , Graz , Cologne and Zurich , the Maxim Gorki Theater in Berlin, the Theaterhaus Gessnerallee in Zurich and the Famous Door Theater in Chicago.

In the field of music theater she has a longstanding collaboration with the Frankfurt Opera . She has also made guest appearances at the Aalto Theater and the Philharmonie Essen , at the Saarland State Theater and at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich. She works with the directors David Alden , David Bösch , Jan Bosse , Vincent Boussard , Agnese Cornelio , Johannes Erath , Heike M. Goetze , Tilmann Köhler , Barrie Kosky , Andreas Kriegenburg , Vera Nemirova , Teresa Reiber , Rafael Sanchez , Keith Warner and Anselm Weber together.

She also works as a musician and singer for the “garage band et moi” project. In 2003 she released a vinyl called Oh La La La together with Gabriel Ananda .
