Bickleton is a census-designated place in Klickitat County in the US state of Washington . Bickleton was first settled by Charles N. Bickle in 1879. As of the 2010 United States Census , Bickleton had 88 residents.
On February 1, 1975, 34 residents welcomed the Hee Haw television program .

Demographics
As of the 2000 census , Bickleton had 113 residents, 49 households and 31 families. The population density was 3.4 per km². There were 65 housing units at an average density of 1.9 per km².
The population consisted of 92.92% white , 2.65% Indian , 2.65% Pacific islanders , and 1.77% other "races" . Hispanics or Latinos of "any race" made up 6.19% of the population.
Of the 49 households, 26.5% had children under the age of 18, 55.1% were run by married couples living together, and 6.1% by single mothers; 36.7% were non-families. 28.6% of the households were singles and 12.2% were single people over 65 years of age. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.87 people.
The median age in the city was 42 years. 25.7% of the population were under 18, 3.5% between 18 and 24, 26.5% between 25 and 44, 29.2% between 45 and 64 and 15, 65 years or older. There were 91.5 men for every 100 women, and 90.9 men for every 100 women over the age of 18.

The place has a gas station; until today a customer account is required for use. There is also a pub, the Bluebird Inn . Opened in 1882, it is believed to be the state's oldest operating pub. The original pool table, a Brunswick from 1903, is still used by regulars. The site also offers a carousel of the company Allan Herschell Company .
Bluebirds
Bickleton is as Bluebird known -Hauptstadt the world. In the 1950s, Jess and Elva Brinkerhoff had a picnic in the small town after driving here from nearby Richland ; they put a tin can in a tree for a few birds. This became the local quirk and nowadays there are thousands of birdhouses populated by the cottage singers.
Two of three species of cottage warbler nest in Bickleton, the mountain cottage warbler and the blue-throated cottage warbler . Maintaining the birdhouses by removing old nests is one of the main occupations for the residents. It is funded by profits from the sale of cottage singer souvenirs at Whitmore's Whoop-n-Holler Ranch Museum .
