Big Syke (born in 1967 or 1968 as Tyruss Himes , died around the 5. December 2016 in Hawthorne , California ) was an American rapper from Inglewood , California. He was a representative of the styles of gangsta rap , west coast hip hop and hardcore rap and best known for his works recorded with Tupac Shakur and his membership in the groups Thug Life and Outlawz from the Shakur environment. In the latter he appeared as Moozaliny .

biography

In his childhood, Himes was nicknamed "Little Psycho" ("little psychopath "). Since he was tall and heavy as an adult, he used "Big Syke" as his stage name as a modification of it. He began his music career in 1990 as part of the group Evil Mind Gangstas. In 1992 he met Tupac Shakur, with whom he befriended and became one of his most important touring partners. In addition, he became part of its groups Thug Life and Outlawz. With the former he released the album Thug Life: Volume 1 in 1994 . In addition, he was always on Shakur's works gefeaturet , in particular on three songs ( Picture Me Rollin , Check Out Time and All Eyez on Me ) of a diamond record the RIAA excellent All Eyez on Me .

After Shakur's death in 1996, Big Syke released a solo album called Be Yo 'Self that same year . In the following years he worked on three solo albums, which were released in 2001 and 2002, and on albums with the Outlawz.

In his final years he struggled with obesity and the resultant heart problems . On December 5, 2016, he was found dead at his home in Hawthorne, California. He was 48 years old.
