Birgit Klausmann

Birgit Klausmann , married Birgit Klausmann-Molter , (born September 11, 1956 in Krefeld ) is a German lexicographer and author of dictionaries and language textbooks for German, French, Italian, English, Spanish and Turkish.

Life

After graduating from high school in Krefeld , Birgit Klausmann studied general linguistics , Romance studies , English and American studies in Düsseldorf , Duisburg and Paris and graduated in 1980 with a Magistra Artium (M.A.). In 1985 , Klausmann received his doctorate from the University of Duisburg on the French author Jean Genet .

Birgit Klausmann has been working as a lexicographer , author , translator and editor with a focus on ( bilingual ) lexicography since 1980 .

From 1981 to 1986 she worked for Ernst Klett Verlag in Stuttgart . Here she oversaw the publication of the first two bilingual Italian-German dictionaries for the new PONS series, initially as a permanent editor and from 1985 in a freelance position.

From 1989 to 1998 Klausmann worked mainly as a lexicographer for the Langenscheidt Verlag in Munich , where she mainly developed bilingual French-German dictionaries and textbooks.

In addition, she had a teaching position for "Contrastive Lexicology and Idioms Italian-German" at the University of Düsseldorf .

From 1998 to 2003 Birgit Klausmann held various management positions in the field of new media , including as head of telecommunications and multimedia at the IHK Mittlerer Niederrhein in Krefeld and as project manager for e-learning and e-business in Mönchengladbach and Neuss .

Since 2003, Klausmann has increasingly devoted himself to linguistics and literary studies and has since published various dictionaries and reference books as well as language textbooks such as grammars, textbooks and vocabulary for national and international clients such as Langenscheidt , Klett , Brockhaus , Cornelsen , Mondadori and Zanichelli. She also works as a translator and language trainer as well as a reviewer for linguistic projects. Since 2007 Birgit Klausmann has also been working as an editor and proofreader .

Today Birgit Klausmann runs the editorial office for lexicography, proofreading and language as well as the proofreading and proofreading CORRECTER.de in Krefeld.

Birgit Klausmann lives and works in Krefeld.
