Birgit Pollmann

Birgit Pollmann (born August 6, 1947 in Braunschweig ; † August 20, 1994 there ) was a German university lecturer and politician . From 1993 to 1994 she was district president of the administrative district of Lueneburg .

Life

Birgit Pollmann was born in Braunschweig in 1947 and grew up in the Siegfried district there. She graduated from the Ina Seidel School in 1966 and then studied political science , history and philosophy at the Technical University and, since 1968, Technical University of Braunschweig . After passing the first state examination for higher teaching qualifications, she decided to pursue an academic career. Pollmann received his doctorate in 1976 with the dissertation Reform approaches in Lower Saxony 1945 - 1949 . She completed her habilitation in 1985 with the work Teachers Between Emancipation and Adaptation (1870–1933) . From 1973 to 1985 she worked as a research assistant and from 1985 to 1988 as professor of political science at the TU Braunschweig. From 1988 to 1993 she was Braunschweig city ​​councilor for schools, culture and sport. On October 1, 1993, she took over the office of District President of Lüneburg.

Birgit Pollmann died on August 20, 1994. She was buried in the main cemetery in Braunschweig .

Birgit Pollmann was married to the historian and university professor Klaus Erich Pollmann since 1971 . The marriage has two sons.
