The Birgitzköpfl is a 1982  m above sea level. A. high ridge elevation on the northwest ridge of the Saile with around 20 m notch height. It is located in the Stubai Alps southwest of Innsbruck in Tyrol .

Location and surroundings

The Birgitzköpfl is located east of the Axamer Lizum and south of Götzens . The slope into the Lizum is accessible with a double chair lift that leads to the Birgitzköpflhütte south of the summit. Neighboring peaks are the 2404  m high Saile in the southeast and the 2103  m high Pfriemeswand in the west . The Hoadl is located on the opposite side of the Axamer Lizum .

A ski path leads from here to the Mutterer Alm in the Muttereralmbahn ski area .

Ascent

The ascent path to Birgitzköpfl leads from Axamer Lizum to the east via a hiking trail to Birgitzer Alm . From there another 200 meters to the summit. The summit can also be reached quickly from the Birgitzköpflhütte , which can be reached via a path below the chairlift or via the Halsl . In winter, the mountain is a destination for ski tourers with less experience, with subsequent descent to Axams or Götzens .
