Geographical location

The village of Birkhof is about 2 km northeast of Treffelstein. It consists of individual houses and courtyards scattered far over the southern slopes of the Silberberg.

history

As of March 23, 1913 (Easter), the diocesan register shows a point “Desert” with 17 houses and 95 inhabitants as part of the Treffelstein branch . The von Birkhof will also have belonged to these wastelands. On December 31, 1990, Birkhof had 47 residents and belonged to the parish of Treffelstein.
