Bismuth bromide oxide is an inorganic chemical compound made up of bismuth , bromine and oxygen .
Extraction and presentation
Bismutbromidoxid created at a hydrolysis of bismuth (III) bromide in water .
properties
Bismuth bromide oxide is a colorless crystalline solid. It is thermodynamically very stable and only melts when it is red heat. It is soluble in concentrated hydrobromic acid and crystallizes tetragonal (isotype with bismuth chloride oxide ) with the space group P 4 / nmm (space group no. 129) . In addition to BiBrO, bismuth bromide oxides of the compositions Bi 3 BrO 4 , Bi 4 Br 2 O 5 , Bi 5 BrO 7 and Bi 24 Br 10 O 31 are known.
