history

The Diocese of Gaoua was on November 30, 2011 by Pope Benedict XVI. built from cessions of territory of the Diébougou diocese and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Bobo-Dioulasso as a suffragan . First Bishop was Modeste Kambou .

The diocese of Gaoua includes the provinces of Noumbiel and Poni .
