The Roman Catholic Diocese of Ouahigouya ( Latin Dioecesis Uahiguyaensis , French Diocèse de Ouahigouya ) is in Burkina Faso situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Ouahigouya .

Its territory includes the provinces of Yatenga , Bam , Loroum and Zondoma .

history

The diocese of Ouahigouya was on June 23, 1958 by Pope Pius XII. established with the Apostolic Constitution Sollemne nobis from cessions of territory of the diocese of Koudougou . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Ouagadougou as a suffragan . On November 20, 2004, the Ouahigouya diocese gave up parts of its territory to establish the Dori diocese .
