The Bistum Geita ( lat. : Dioecesis Geitaensis ) is an in Tanzania preferred Roman Catholic diocese based in Geita .

history

The diocese of Geita was established on November 8, 1984 by Pope John Paul II with the Apostolic Constitution Summi Pontificis from cessions of territory from the diocese of Mwanza and subordinated to the archdiocese of Tabora as a suffragan . On November 18, 1987, the diocese of Geita was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Mwanza as a suffragan.
