The diocese Janaúba ( Latin Dioecesis Ianaubena , Portuguese Diocese de Janaúba ) is in Brazil located Roman Catholic diocese based in Janaúba in the state of Minas Gerais .
history
The diocese of Janaúba was established on July 5, 2000 by Pope John Paul II from cedings of the dioceses of Montes Claros and Januária . It was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Diamantina as a suffragan . On April 25, 2001 it was subordinated to the Archdiocese of Montes Claros as a suffragan.
