The diocese Sakania-Kipushi ( Latin Dioecesis Sakaniensis-Kipushiensis , French Diocèse de Sakania-Kipushi ) is in the Democratic Republic of Congo situated Roman Catholic diocese based in Sakania .

history

The diocese of Sakania- Kipushi was on May 12, 1925 by Pope Pius XI. established with the Apostolic Constitution Supremi apostolatus from cession of territory by the Apostolic Vicariate Katanga as Apostolic Prefecture Luapula Superiore . The Apostolic Prefecture Luapula Superiore was founded on November 14, 1939 by Pope Pius XII. raised to the Apostolic Vicariate with the Apostolic Constitution Si sedulo Evangelii and renamed the Apostolic Vicariate Sakania .

On November 10, 1959, the Apostolic Vicariate Sakania was by Pope John XXIII. raised to a diocese with the Apostolic Constitution Cum parvulum and subordinated to the Archdiocese of Lubumbashi as a suffragan . The diocese of Sakania was renamed on March 5, 1977 in the diocese of Sakania-Kipushi .
